Hedgehogs

We are thoroughly enjoying reading George's Marvellous Medicine and today we had so much fun making our own fizzy and foamy potions just like George made!

Our text this term is Paddington. At the start of the term the children enjoyed making marmalade sandwiches just like Paddington likes to eat, they then wrote a set of instructions on how to make a marmalade sandwich. Our next piece of writing is going to be a Paddington character description so the children have spent some time making Paddington head bands and pretending to be Paddington. 

In DT we have been designing fruit animals. We learnt how to safely chop up different fruits and then we arranged them to make an animal. We then got to eat our animals once an adult had taken a photo of us with our masterpiece!  

We had so much fun on World Book Day dressing up as our favourite animal characters and sharing lots of stories in class. We spent some time reading with Year 5 in the hall  and Miss Ingrey came to read to us in class. We made our own book marks in the afternoon. 

Year 2 had a great day with the fire service learning all about fire safety. We were very lucky to go outside to see the fire engine and every child got the exciting opportunity to squirt the hose for 4 seconds which resulted in us all getting drenched! We then set fire to Pudding Lane and watched it burn. Enjoy looking at some pictures from the day.
